From The Des Moines Register: Voters in the Johnston (Iowa) school district have rejected a proposal to borrow $51 million to help pay for construction of an $83 million high school. The ballot question needed 60 percent voter approval to pass, but garnered only 55 percent. At forums before the vote, critics questioned the price tag and raised concerns about traffic and the proposed design.
