University of Illinois asks professors and administrators to take unpaid furlough days

System president also freezes hiring

FromThe Chicago Tribune: University of Illinois administrators and professors will be asked to take unpaid furlough days this winter because of a "grim and worsening" state budget picture, Interim President Stanley Ikenberry says. Ikenberry also has frozen hiring and interim wage increases.
