Virginia governor to host conference on campus safety

Virginia governor Tim Kaine to host conference on campus safety. Four months after Virginia Tech tragedy, educators will get guidance on improving security for students and staff.

Virginia Gov. Timothy Kaine plans to host a campus security conference next week at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond to share information on security strategies products and services that can make campuses safer. The Aug. 13 session will include information on campus emergency alert systems, preparedness training, campus and local community coordination, campus safety and security coordination, and crime prevention through environmental design.
