California district tears down vacant school

Santee district's oldest school closed four years ago because of declining enrollment.

The Santee (Calif.) School District is demolishing its oldest school four years after declining enrollment led to its closure. Contractors hope to tear down the last of the Santee School's 12 buildings by the end of next week. Officials say the cream-and-blue-colored, one-story school holds a lot of sentimental value to many people.
