Skinner Elementary will re-use a water tower to store roof runoff.

Chicago is building a new Skinner Elementary School in the city's West Loop area. The three-story 100,000-square-foot building will replace the old building on the site. The new facility will have 23 classrooms, a dining room, a gymnasium with a stage platform, a science classroom, a music room and a library. The school will re-use a water tower to store roof runoff water for irrigation of the landscape. The architect is Schroeder Murchie Niemiec Gazda-Auskalnis Architects.
