News release: Lincoln Hall, a renovated classroom building on the University of Illinois at Chicago campus, has won Gold-level certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It is the university’s first project to receive LEED certification. Lincoln Hall's $13.7 million renovation was completed last summer, and the building reopened to students last fall. The building is powered by a geothermal system, and it has photovoltaic panels installed on its roof. New window treatments increase natural light. The architectural firm Design Organization created the blueprints for the makeover.
