North Carolina student kills himself after brandishing gun at school

16-year-old left Hendersonville campus, then shot himself at a gas station.

A 16-year-old junior North Mecklenburg High School in Hendersonville, N.C., pointed a handgun at two students on campus Wednesday, then drove to a gas station, where he shot himself to death. Police say the student was upset over an ex-girlfriend. The high school, and other nearby schools were put on lockdown about for about an hour. No one else was injured.
