Charter high school wants to open in San Diego neighborhood

The city's Mission Valley neighborhood does not have a public school.

Mission Valley, one of the most densely developed neighborhoods in San Diego, is packed with apartments and condominiums but lacks a public school. San Diego Unified School District officials don't think there are enough students to plan for one. But Point Loma-based High Tech High, a charter school chain, is planning to open a school in a proposed development on the northern edge of the neighborhood.
