New Orleans prosecutors look into allegations of skimming from school PTO

Federal prosecutors already embroiled in a bribery scandal involving a former Orleans Parish (La.) School Board member are looking into separate allegations that a parent systematically looted more than $84,000 from a parent-teacher organization at a New Orleans public elementary school. The allegations against Glenn Collins, 43, served as treasurer of the Hynes Elementary PTO from 2004 to 2005 and was re-elected for the 2005-06 year before Katrina flooded the school, now scheduled for demolition.
