Facility that was to be an intermediate school will instead house middle school grades

From The Indianapolis Star: The Southern Hancock (Ind.) School Board has decided to close down the Doe Creek Middle School building in New Palestine next school year to prevent incurring further costs. The facility, which houses grades 6 to 8 in its 35-year-old building, will be closed and its students transferred elsewhere this fall. Sixth grade would be placed in the district’s three elementary schools; Grades 7 and 8 would be moved into a new district building, was supposed to have accommodated grades 5 and 6. Instead of being known as Brier Creek Intermediate School, it will assume the name of Doe Creek Middle School.
