Talks between Ypsilanti and Willow Run have intensified

From The Detroit Free Press: Consolidation discussions between the Willow Run and Ypsilanti school districts in Michigan have been intensifying. The school board in each district has adopted a resolution that calls for placing the question before voters if a task force recommends it. The push to consolidate districts has deepened among state lawmakers in recent years. Michigan has nearly 550 school districts, many of them with fewer than 1,500 students. Some see consolidation as a way to cut costs, though research is mixed on how much it can save taxpayers.
