Prosecutors step up truancy fight in Detroit schools

From The Detroit News: Wayne County, Mich., prosecutors are ramping up efforts to target chronically truant students at Detroit Public Schools. Bob Heimbuch, chief of Wayne County's juvenile division, says his office has begun holding "intervention-style" meetings last month with parents, teachers and truant students to get to the root of truancy and give students the opportunity to get back into school.
