District fired the teachers after being accused of leading a student protest

From The Detroit Free Press: The Detroit school system has agreed to pay $300,000 to a pair of teachers who were fired after being accused of leading an unruly student protest but later sued and won their jobs back. Steve Conn and Heather Miller say they plan to donate a large percentage of the money, which covers back pay, attorney fees and other costs, to civil rights causes.
