From The Douglas Enterprise: The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) is recommending that the Coffee County (Ga.) School District be placed on probation and says the system is in "serious jeopardy" of losing its accreditation." The violations found by SACS during their most recent visit from May 2 through May 4 all relate to the five members of the school board. "Evidence has shown that the current board has not demonstrated its ability to provide consistent, positive, and effective leadership in moving the system forward," the association says. SACS has given the board 90 days to comply with the SACS’ recommendations.
