L.A. working to phase out use of year-round calendars

Construction program aims to provide enough classroom space to do away with multi-track calendars
Aug. 13, 2009

From The Los Angeles Daily News: At the peak in 2002, one out of three schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District stayed open year-round. The district's goal is to eliminate multi-track schools by 2012.
