Five Baltimore schools labeled "persistently dangerous"

Schools haven't made enough progress in reducing suspensions.

Maryland school officials have labeled five Baltimore middle and high schools "persistently dangerous." All five schools were on the list last year and did not make enough progress in reducing student suspensions to get off the list. Maryland is one of only seven states in the nation to apply the federal designation to any of its schools.
