Former business manager at New Orleans charter school gets 5 years in prison

Woman stole $660,000 from Langston Hughes Academy to pay for gambling habit
From The New Orleans Times-Picayune: Kelly Thompson, former business manager at Langston Hughes Academy in New Orleans, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for stealing $660,000 from the charter school. U.S. District Judge Carl Barbier also ordered Thompson to pay more than $670,000 in restitution to the school. Thompson, 38, has told federal authorities that she used the money to finance a gambling habit.
