Some parents in the Rocky Point (N.Y.) district believe that Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School has gone overboard in trying to keep children quiet during lunch. The cafeteria has a traffic light-like signal that switches from green to yellow to red as the decibel levels rise, and students have been warned they could lose recess time if the light turns red. Rocky Point superintendent Carla D'Ambrosio has met with parents about the device and promises to re-examine use of the school's Talk Light, but she's not ready to abandon it.
