Food service employee dismissed after demeaning students who couldn't afford meals

A woman alleged to be the embodiment of the mean school lunch lady has been fired from the Waterloo (Iowa) school system for denying food to students who could not afford to buy a school lunch. Nancy J. Harvey had worked for three years as a lunch associate in Waterloo, collecting money for meals served to elementary school students. State records indicate Harvey was reprimanded twice and suspended once for allegedly grabbing, yelling at and embarrassing students who didn't have enough money to pay for their meals.
