University chiefs in Michigan beat the drum for more state funding

Heads of the state's three largest universities make a joint appeal to lawmakers.

In an unprecedented joint appearance before a Michigan legislative appropriations subcommittee, the presidents of Wayne State University, Michigan State University and the University of Michigan said the key to state's economic recovery lies in pumping more money into their institutions, which are the state's three biggest universities.
