Money will enable School Administrative District 9 to build an elementary school in Farmington

A $19.8 million proposal for a new elementary school was overwhelmingly approved by voters in eight of the nine Maine towns in School Administrative District 9. Construction of the new school in Farmington will go on while students attend classes in the existing building. The project is expected to go out to bid by December and be completed by June 2011. At that time, the existing building will be razed, and playing fields will be established on the site.
