Texas Christian University puts off plans for gay-themed housing

School will review whether such living-learning programs fit its academic mission

From The Fort Worth Star-Telegram: Texas Christian University in Fort Worth will delay plans for an on-campus housing program for gay students and their supporters. The school will conduct a review about whether such themed living programs support "the academic mission of the institution." The DiversCity Q community was set to open in the fall. Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students and their allies — heterosexual classmates who support them — would have had the chance to live together and participate in lectures and discussions.
