Jan. 2, 2008

Voters in the Orono (Minn.) district will decide on Feb. 12 whether to approve a $39.4 million bond proposal. The money would pay for interior and exterior improvements at Orono High, Schumann Elementary and Orono Intermediate schools. The district estimates that the upgrade to the buildings, all built in the 1950s or 1960s, will reduce energy costs by $200,000 to $300,000 a year.
