Education official in American Samoa convicted of obstruction, witness tampering

News release: Paul Solofa, the director of the school lunch program in American Samoa, has been convicted of witness tampering and obstruction of justice in connection with a bribery probe involving schools. The FBI says Solofa was recorded in 2009 telling a vendor how he could obstruct a federal investigation of cash bribes and kickbacks paid by school bus parts vendors to officials of the American Samoa government.
