Improving administrative offices a difficult sell for districts

Taxpayers often object to having funds spent on non-classroom facilities

Even in good times, building or upgrading school administration buildings is unpopular. Critics often refer to such projects as "Taj Mahals." It's even worse when the economy is tanking. Although a number of districts are spending bond money to modernize schools, upgrading their district offices simply isn't an option these days.
