Miami superintendent says layoffs may be needed

Gloomy funding forecast from state could be harbinger of budget woes

Citing a bleak revenue forecast from the Florida legislature, Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Rudy Crew says he'll consider laying off schools employees -- perhaps hundreds -- to balance the district's tight budget.
