Rocklin (Calif.) board rejects charter application

Trustees question proposed location of school, which would have served grades 7 to 12

TheRocklin (Calif.) Unified school board has again rejected a proposal to open a college-prep charter school at Rocklin or Whitney high schools. The proposed Western Sierra Collegiate Academy failed to meet legal requirements, despite lengthy efforts by the petitioner, Rocklin Academy. Most of the trustees' concerns were related to the proposed location of the school, which would serve students in grades 7 to 12 on an existing high school campus.
