Juneau, Alaska, voters authorize bonds for elementary upgrades

Voters in Juneau, Alaska, have voted in favor of providing $22 million in bonds for renovation of Harborview and Glacier Valley Elementary schools.

EARLIER: Voters in Juneau, Alaska, will decide on Oct. 2 whether to approve a $22.4 million bond proposal for elementary school reconstruction. Officials say $15.3 million would go toward renovation of Harborview Elementary School and $7.1 million would go toward renovating Glacier Valley Elementary School. The school renovation projects are eligible for 70 percent reimbursement from the state.
