Shuttering Elmwood Elementary and Bellevue Middle would save $3 million a year

From The Syracuse Post-Standard: Syracuse (N.Y.) school Superintendent Daniel Lowengard has recommended closing Elmwood Elementary School and Bellevue Middle School Academy to save money and to provide temporary space for other schools as they undergo major renovations. Closing the two schools would save about $3 million, and it would give the district somewhere to put students from Dr. Weeks Elementary and H.W. Smith K-8 school while they are under renovation.
