From The Detroit Free Press: The abandoned, once-celebrated Cass Technical High School building in Detroit is many things to many people. When the 831,000-square-foot school closed in June 2005 to make way for a $115-million, state-of-the-art new Cass Tech, many of the books, desks, computers, chemistry supplies, pianos, trophies and artwork were left behind. Now, one of the city's architectural icons awaits the wrecking ball after five years of neglect turned this city gem into an eerie shell.
