Limited use of school swimming pools angers some parents in Broward County (Fla.) district

Two pools built for swim teams may not be suitable for use by general public
April 13, 2011
From The Miami Herald: The Broward County (Fla.) School District has spent more than $8 million on a pair of new 10-lane pools for use by swim and dive teams. The pools at Nova and Fort Lauderdale High Schools weren’t designed with physical education classes in mind and may not be suitable at all for novice swimmers because they are seven feet deep at the shallow end. The expense, and the pools’ limited use, has some parents fuming.
