Kentucky Safe Schools Data Project finds that incidents have declined significantly

From The Lexington Herald-Leader: The 11th annual Kentucky Safe Schools Data Project has found that the number of disciplinary actions taken against students is declining. The statistics, compiled by the Kentucky Department of Education and Kentucky Center for School Safety, showed student disciplinary actions for school board policy violations fell from 80,481 in the 2005-06 school year to 62,917 in 2009-10, a decline of more than 20 percent. Policy violations included fighting, disturbing class, defying authority, making threats or inappropriate sexual behavior.
