44 schools will switch out T12 bulbs with T8 bulbs
Feb. 15, 2011

From The Hickory Daily Record: The school systems in Catawba County, N.C., are changing out thousands of fluorescent lights in 44 schools. Every state agency, community college and public school must replace the T12 bulbs that now are in most of the lights with T8 bulbs. Unlike the old lights, the T8s have less mercury, are brighter and are more energy efficient, said Frank Southers, director of maintenance for Hickory Public Schools.
