News release: The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is making a switch to 100 percent recycled paper. The university says it is transitioning from 30 percent post-consumer recycled bond to 100 percent recycled bond for white paper. The first reams of the eco-friendly paper were distributed throughout campus last month. Using paper with higher recycled content is expected to save the equivalent of 1,100 trees per year. The institution decided to make the switch after those responsible for ordering the paper determined that that the price difference between the 30 percent and 100 percent recycled paper was a mere 20 cents per ream—a 5 percent price difference, compared with a 50-to-100 percent price difference in the past.
