Gov. Ted Strickland's education plan calls for small class sizes in primary grades

From The Columbus Dispatch: Ohio has spent more than $6.5 billion over the past dozen years to build schools that in many cases won't meet the requirements of Gov. Ted Strickland's education plan. Under the governor's proposal, the student-to-teacher ratio in kindergarten through third grade must be 15-to-1. But since its creation in 1997, the Ohio School Facilities Commission has built or renovated hundreds of schools based on 25 students per classroom. That means districts with even the newest buildings might need more classrooms to meet the smaller class-size requirements.
