Mississippi district will move some 4th-grade students into a middle school

Harrison County officials say the change will relieve crowding at an elementary
April 11, 2012

From The Biloxi Sun-Herald: The Harrison County (Miss.) School Board has decided to move fourth graders to D’Iberville Middle School beginning in the fall. District officials say D’Iberville Elementary has too many students, and the middle school has 15 empty classrooms. Last month, the board decided to solve the space problem by moving the elementary students to the middle school and middle school students to the elementary, but parents and teachers protested. Some teachers and parents object to the latest solution, saying fourth graders shouldn't be in the same building with the older students.
