An inspection of new tracks in the Dallas school district has revealed that problems with the surface were due mostly to poor maintenance and vandalism. Track Masters Inc. has agreed to pay for problems covered under warranty, amounting to about $10,000. But the Dallas Independent School District will be responsible for the rest of the repairs, a district spokesman said. The company put those costs at about $40,000.
