Short on classroom space, charter school sends seniors on field trips for 2 weeks

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering faces space crunch after middle and high school campuses merge
Aug. 16, 2012

From The Memphis Commercial Appeal: In the first two weeks at Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, seniors at the charter school have visited theme parks, spent an afternoon at the movies, ate pizza out, visited the zoo, and toured an area university and other sites. Meanwhile, administrators have been scrounging for classroom space on the school's campus to find room for the 73 seniors. The school has the space crunch because it consolidate its high school and middle school campuses this summer. Another classroom is being converted out of unused space and is expected to be ready next week.
