From The Elk Grove Journal: Elk Grove Township (Ill.) Elementary District 59 is working with architects to lower the costs of a proposed expansion project at Juliette Low Elementary School in Arlington Heights. Two designs have been presented to board members. The first design consisted of constructing five classrooms, along with a storage room and a small resource room spanning 9,500 square feet at an estimated $2.4 million. The second design has seven classrooms, two of them larger kindergarten rooms. That design also encompasses a storage room and small resource room. That addition would cost about $3.2 million and span 13,500 square feet. The school's current size is 62,212 square feet, but because of increased enrollment over the past two years, district officials say they need to expand the school or move students to other nearby buildings. The architect is Legat Architects.
