Suit says union and district haven’t followed rules for collecting dues
From The Cincinnati Enquirer: Seven non-union carpentry shop workers for Cincinnati Public Schools contend in a lawsuit that the local building trades union has illegally deducted union dues from their paychecks. The suit names as defendants the Greater Cincinnati Building & Construction Trades union and the school district. The union began deducting $80 a month in August 2010, the workers say. The suit doesn't challenge the union's right to withdraw money. But it does allege that the union failed to provide a breakdown of how the dues are being spent, as required under law.
