Albuquerque schools will supplant textbooks with web-based materials
From The Albuquerque Journal: The Albuquerque (N.M.) school board has approved an $11.3 million, seven-year contract to have Discovery Education provide web-based resources instead of physical books. The materials offered include videos, interactive lessons, educational games, reading passages and glossaries. The contract also includes training for teachers. District officials say using web-based resources will be cheaper than new textbooks and will better prepare students.
