Middle school proposal rejected in Oregon district
The Baker (Ore.) School District has failed to win approval of a $21 million bond measure. The request for funds for a new middle school received only 36 percent of the vote. Last year, voters said no to a slightly smaller bond proposal. Officials say the buildings on the existing middle school campus are aging and need to be replaced. The bonds would have paid for a modern one-story structure to replace the two-building, multiple-story middle school complex.
