2 Oklahoma City elementary schools will close

Students will be consolidated in a renovated middle school

From The Daily Oklahoman: Two Oklahoma City, Okla., elementary schools are in line for consolidation into one facility.The plan calls for Columbus Elementary and Westwood Elementary to close. Most of the students from those schools will attend a new elementary school housed in a renovated middle school. A $6 million renovation will transform Jackson Middle School into a modern space for prekindergarten through sixth-grade students. The consolidation could occur as early as the 2012-13 school year, but the actual date depends on when the renovations of Jackson Middle School are completed.
