Mecklenburg County, N.C., will borrow $100 million to complete construction projects

Most of the money will go for school projects in Charlotte-Mecklenburg district
June 17, 2009

From The Charlotte Observer: Mecklenburg County, N.C., commissioners have signed off on a plan to borrow $100 million to help complete more than two dozen county-funded construction projects. Most of the money from the sale of construction bonds will go toward the completion of campus renovations and additions at more than 20 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Commissioners had delayed the sale of the bonds earlier this year amid concerns Mecklenburg's credit rating would be harmed by taking on additional debt in a faltering economy.
