2 ex-administrators in Detroit district indicted in fraud scheme

From The Detroit News: Two former officials in the Detroit Public Schools risk management department and two vendors have been indicted on charges of converting more than $3 million of district funds to themselves, friends and family. Named in the indictment are Stephen Hill, 58, former executive director of the risk management office, and Christina Polk-Osumah, 59, former risk management finance manager. Also charged are Sherry Washington, 53, and Gwendolyn Washington, 66, who are partners of Associates for Learning, a company that was hired to administer a health awareness program for the district. The eight-count indictment alleges bribery, fraud, extortion and money laundering committed between 2005 and 2006.
