Cal State campus growing fast

San Marcos campus grows 22 percent in three years.

California State University, San Marcos, is among the fastest-growing campuses in the largest public university system in the nation. Enrollment has climbed 22 percent over three school years; 9,000 students expected this fall. The third-newest Cal State campus has recently surpassed well-established ones such as Sonoma in Northern California and Stanislaus in the Central Valley.
