Miami-Dade district awarded Broad Prize

District cited for raising academic standards and improving the performance of black and Hispanic students

From The Miami Herald: The Miami-Dade County school district has been awarded the Broad Prize for Urban Education for its dramatic gains in achievements by black and Hispanic students and for raising academic standards. Along with the honor comes more than $500,000 in scholarships to 2013 Miami-Dade graduates who demonstrate need and show academic improvement.
