Washington state Supreme Court says school funding system violates constitution

Jan. 6, 2012
Ruling says funding amounts ore inadequate, but does not impose a specific remedy

From The Tacoma News-Tribune: The Washington state Supreme Court has ruled that the state is shirking its constitutional duty to adequately fund public education. But the court stopped short of issuing a specific remedy to the problem. Instead, the justices said they would let the Legislature keep working until 2018 on a reform plan enacted in 2009.
