Grossmont (Calif.) district will replace special education facility

Repairing Viking Center would be too costly

The Grossmont (Calif.) Union High School District will build a new facility for students with severe disabilities instead of modernizing the existing one, which needs many repairs and safety upgrades. The board has decided to demolish The Viking Center in El Cajon and replace it with a new 14,000-square-foot, $7 million facility.
