Du Page (Ill.) High School District 88 and Wight & Company, a K-12 design firm, say that groundbreaking celebrations for Addison Trail High School and Willowbrook High School will be held on Sunday, June 1. The improvements will be paid for through a $104.7 million bond issue that passed in April 2007. “This is perhaps the most exciting time we are entering in the history of District 88, made possible by the tremendous support from our communities,” says superintendent Steve K. Humphrey.
The renovations and additions will enhance technology, add and improve science labs, provide expanded educational and athletic facilities, address traffic flow and parking needs and improve indoor air quality with new air conditioning systems in each school. This summer both high schools will be enhanced with wireless technology. The construction projects are expected to be completed during the 2010-2011 school year.
